  • You manage existing IT installations on client infrastructure, occasionally outside regular working hours or on weekends
  • You also assist in maintaining our own internal infrastructure

Your Qualifications:


Required:

  • Very good German and English skills, both written and spoken
  • A proactive and self-motivated attitude with a willingness to learn new technologies and take on new challenges in both R development and DevOps
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a team and interact with internal and external project partners
  • Strong problem-solving skills in a complex technical environment
  • Knowledge of the R programming language, including data manipulation, visualization, statistical analysis, package development, database access, and tools for execution environment isolation and control (renv/Docker/nix)
  • Passion for transparency, inclusivity, and knowledge sharing in line with the open-source ethos, and a desire to integrate these values into daily work
  • Strong understanding of software development principles and best practices, including version control (e.g., Git) and code review
  • Good familiarity with the Unix shell and experience working over remote shell connections (SSH)
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools such as CI/CD pipelines, containerization (e.g., Docker), and deployment strategies (e.g., β€œblue-green”)

Preferred:

  • Contributions to open-source R packages or projects
  • Experience with tidyverse, devtools, and packages like DBI/dbplyr/dm/tidymodels/shiny/renv
  • Understanding of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) concepts
  • Automation and optimization of repetitive tasks using scripting languages like Bash or Python

Our Conditions for You:

  • Residence and work permit for Switzerland or Germany
  • Work location: remote, with occasional meetings in Zurich. Two offices in Zurich and coworking spaces can be used
  • Occasional on-site appointments with clients in Switzerland and Germany
